  • On Feelings

The book teaches that feelings aren't the enemy - they're messengers. Tony introduces practical tools like identifying which "room" you're in (Anger, Sadness, Fear) and learning to "name it to tame it."

    On Body Image

This chapter is particularly powerful. Tony shares his own teenage insecurities, then his friend Yasmin shares her raw story of struggling with an eating disorder and her eventual recovery. The chapter includes a transformative exercise called "Mirror, Mirror on the Wall" that helps teenagers see themselves through their friends' eyes rather than through their own critical lens.

    On Grief

The new chapter tackles loss in all its forms - death, divorce, broken friendships, lost identities. This chapter written with Clinical Neuropsychologist Dr Angela Griffin is both beautiful and extremely practical introducing a way for parents to help their teenagers to not only come to terms with loss but grow from the experience.

    On Fear and Courage

Rather than telling teenagers to "get out of their comfort zone," Tony admits he's "been frightened all my life." He teaches them to befriend their fears and shares a three-step process for "saddling up and riding your fears."

  • Clinical psychologists are using it in their practice. Dr Angela Griffin, Lead Clinical Psychologist at University Hospital Southampton Children's Hospital, says: "Once I started reading this book, I found it hard to put down. Every chapter brought to mind a young person who could benefit from it and I have already found the ideas and exercises helpful in my sessions."

Guidance counsellors recommend it as a wellbeing resource. Teachers use it in schools. And teenagers who "don't usually read books" are flying through it and asking their friends to read it too.
